Mime & Clown: Mat has a style of mime and clown that is infused with the spirit of great silent movie comedians like Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Deb sometimes mimes along. They have many great skits and perform many cool mime illusions! Juggling: Mat will excite and charm an audience with his comedic juggling and stories. He juggles a variety of objects (beanbags, balls, rings, clubs and basketballs) balances on a "rolla bolla" (a board on a cylinder) walks on his hands (as in upside down) and more. Mat's act features no "off color" jokes, just great tricks and tales. Songs & Stories: Each piece is some unique mix of music, mime, juggling, and the spoken word. Their songs and stories are each a colorful piecing together of various skills to create a warm and colorful artistic "patchwork quilt" (hence their name). Festivals: The Pear love festivals! They are family friendly and touch the hearts of festival goers (both young and old) with uplifting, positive entertainment. They've performed at a wide variety of festivals including: Blissfest Folk Music Festival
Schools:The Pear love kids! They inspire students to achieve their potential! Along with motivating performances they also offer message in such areas as learning, character development and substance abuse. They can also tailor their presentation to support any theme. Libraries: Pear love reading! Books continue to be important to Mat and Deb and they show library audiences why. Much of their public domain material has been gained through books. They've also developed their skills through books. You probably have many of these books in your own library! They can also tailor their presentation to fit any theme. Songs & Stories: Each piece is some unique mix of music, mime, juggling, and the spoken word. Mat and Deb are both Christians and experienced in ministry. Sharing the love of God through their "Patchwork Pearables" presentation gives them a special joy. The Pear ("go and bear fruit") have performed in worship services, fellowship and outreach activities, children/youth programs and more. Special Events: The Pear love a good party (or luncheon, or banquet, or whatever)! Whatever the event or activity. Mat and Deb can provide the perfect entertainment. Whether the crowd is all adults, all kids or all mixed up, the Pear are sure to delight! Stage Performances: Deb plays guitar and sings a song. Mat provides a "living music video" through mime. The audience responds with laughter (and maybe a tear). This is a perfect example of what the Pear do on stage. They have a plethora of material so can perform for as long as needed. Classic Pear Pieces include "Casey at the Bat" (story/mime), "The Ballad of John Henry" (song/mime), "Stanley, Ollie and Gus - Three Pieces of Living Dust" (song/story/juggling), "Jack and the Bean Bags" (story/juggling) and much, much more! Strolling Performances: Mainly Mat's forte. If you need a strolling juggler, mime, clown, storyteller (or combination thereof) Mat's your man! He can also stroll "in character" (sailor, cowboy, etc.) to fit a particular theme. If you want a combination of strolling and stage performances, he can do that too. Workshops: Mat and Deb love to share their performance skills in more ways than one and will teach youth or adults any of them! They can combine stage and/or strolling performances with workshops as well For additional information visit our website at
