Thanks so much for agreeing to be a part of the “Mini Shoots” story for the Fall/Winter 2008 issue of Brides Local Magazines. Below are a few questions about your wedding day services. I can’t wait to share your work with our readers!

How long have you been shooting weddings?four years

What are some popular “add-ons” or packages? My most popular package is 8 hours of
photography, a signed Fine Art Print and a 10x10 album. I include a reception guest portrait experience I call the Fake Fashion Shoot.

Explain the FASHION shoot. When most wedding photographers are wrapping up, I am
kicking it into high gear! I direct friends, family and the bridal party in a photo shoot complete with studio lights. These are truly the most real and honest portraits. I really get people to let down their hair! Why do table shots when you can jump, strut and tango! For the faint of heart there's always the straight-faced American Gothic look.

Do people gravitate toward the FASHION shoot—do guests “get it”, or is some instruction needed (Maybe signs, or the couple taking the first few)
I have the bride and groom express how much they want to remember everyone who celebrated their wedding day. The Fashion Shoot is very entertaining and people definitely 'get it' with a little encouragement from me!

Is there a “type” of couple that seems to favor the FASHION shoot? I've had great success with all types of crowds! By the time the dancing starts, everyone loosens up and are happy to try something new. For those that are hesitant, I just ask them to walk towards me. Before you know it, they're laughing!

They are totally available online. I love to create large framed pieces with 24-48 images for the bride and groom. It really captures the energy and joy of their loved ones. It's just a great way to remember their wedding celebration.

How is a FASHION shoot different from a traditional photobooth? I can accommodate larger groups of friends and family. People can boogie, twirl, prowl, vamp...and of course jump! Polaroid guest books tend to be inconsistent and underexposed. I wanted to create a fun and foolproof way to photograph guests. Are there any venues who would not allow a Photobooth setup? Nope.

Where are the best places to set up the station?
The Fashion Shoot needs to be in the same room as the reception.

Do you provide backdrops?
I typically choose a visually interesting vignette ahead of time when I scout the location. I like people to connect to where they were. Backdrops are always an option.

What are some products couples can create using their wedding and engagement photos?
I specialize in signed Fine Art Prints. I believe strongly that my brides and groom's live with the artwork I create, not just tuck it away in a drawer. These are matted archival giclee prints on watercolor paper. For a more contemporary look, huge canvas wraps are cool!
What are some other fun services you offer?
I include a photo session before the wedding so all of us can get comfortable. We work out the body language of intimate portraiture before putting on the formal clothing. Let's face it, most of us are not fashion models and need direction to look our best!

My style is simple though, I offer suggestions and let my couples make it their own. Then I step back and capture photographs that are fresh and contemporary.
