D & A Chamber Players
The D & A Chamber Players have been performing together for fifteen years. Originally formed to explore and record repertoire for clarinet and classical guitar, they have since performed in a variety of settings, from formal recitals to receptions, including instrumental combinations of guitar and flute, clarinet, or saxophone. Winners of the First Annual Plymouth (MA) Music Competition, they have received accolades from Minnesota Composer Libby Larsen for their interpretation of her “Blue Third Pieces” and “Three Pieces for Treble Wind and Guitar.”
Musician Bob D'Ambrosio
Bob D’Ambrosio is a native of Plymouth, MA. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he studied with Michael Sussman, and earned bachelors and masters degrees in music education and performance. He continued clarinet studies following graduate school with Thomas Martin, Associate Principal Clarinetist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Principal Clarinetist of the Boston Pops Orchestra. Bob is currently Principal Clarinetist of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Indian Hill Symphony, Boston Lyric Opera, Thayer Symphony, Worcester Orchestra, and other groups in the Greater Boston area. He has recorded and premiered works for clarinet and guitar by Libby Larsen. Bob has served on the faculties of Mount Holyoke College, Holyoke Community College, and Atlantic Union College. He has run the Boston Marathon five times, and will be running it again in **** to raise money for Children’s Hospital in Boston. He lives in Plymouth, MA with his wife Su, and daughters Maria and Rosa.
Musician Louis Arnold
A graduate of the Longy School of Music, guitarist Louis Arnold has performed as a soloist and in chamber ensembles in New England, Canada, and Spain. Formerly a faculty member at Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory Extension and the Longy School, he now teaches privately and performs as part of the D & A Chamber Players.
